Biography

In 1975 in the summer break from Mountview Theatre School i got a job as an assistant engineer / tea boy / runner at the Roundhouse Recording Studio in Chalk Farm. It was a brand new studio owned by the wonderful Mr Gerry Bron, owner of Bronze records. and record producer for Uriah Heep, Osibisa  and others. My brother Peter was the studio manager and oversaw the build of what was the most state of the art studio in the U.K. It immediately attracted lots of high end artist and I had only been working there for a few weeks when I got to assist on Queen's "A Night at The Opera" including the legendary Bohemian Rhapsody!

I was incredibly lucky to have been dropped in to the high eshalons of the music industry at such a young age and I was given a brilliant training by Peter and the 2 engineers, Ashley Howe and Mark Dearnley.

I assisted  Peter, Ashley  and Mark on numerous projects including Uriah Heep, The Real Thing, Cliff Richard, Osibisa, Coloseum , Hawkwind, Sally Oldfield and Chas and Dave. I also assisted on Marianne Faithful's Broken English album,

Peter recorded the first 8 or so Heep albums, I assisted Ashley on High and mighty and I engineered later albums including Conquest and worked with Ken Hensley on solo projects. As a house engineer I went on to work with Motorhead, The Nolans,
